High Speed Internet Access

Torrey, Utah is located in the middle of nowhere and we’re proud to say that we sell t-shirts here to that effect!

Nevertheless, sometime you need to check your email or view pictures of cats doing funny things on Facebook.  Or maybe you just want to post a review of Robbers Roost on-line. Regardless of your purpose, we offer high-speed Internet access and even have a couple of loaner tablets on hand in the event your device is on the fritz or (horrors!) you accidentally left it at home.

Gourmet Coffee and Baked Goods

At Robbers Roost, we proudly offer Salt Lake Roasting Company coffee in a variety of blends, from Sumatra to French Roast. We are also pleased to serve fresh, locally made coffee cake, scones, cookies, and other goodies.  Stop in for a morning repast, or a post-hike pick-me-up.  We guarantee the Robbers Roost coffee pot is always on when you need it!

New and Used Books

We focus on literature, guidebooks, maps and fields guides focused on the Colorado Plateau region.  If you’re a reader, many of the names will already be familiar to you-Edward Abbey, Wallace Stegner, Terry Tempest Willams, Craig Childs, and Ellen Meloy.  But we would also be pleased to introduce you to works by emerging talents and lesser-known classics by local authors (ask us about Charles Kelly, the first superintendent of nearby Capitol Reef who authored an underappreciated history of the region’s outlaws).

We also carry a variety of used books, from thrillers and historical fiction to natural history. Stop in regularly, as our selection changes regularly.

Aardvark Guitars

We have recently begun carrying vintage Gibson, Martin and other acoustic guitars, as well as fiddles and mandolins, courtesy of our friends at Aardvark Guitars.  We also stock musical supplies including tuners, strings, picks, capos, and other accessories. Visit www.aardvarkguitars.com for their stocklist and to learn more about this great vintage guitar store!

The Entrada Institute

Robbers Roost is the home of the Entrada Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that sponsors lectures, concerts, field classes and other events focused on the human and natural history of the Torrey environs.  Most Saturdays during the summer, Robbers Roost hosts and the Entrada Institute sponsors events on the stage behind Robbers Roost.  Most events are free and the public is invited. Visit the Entrada Institute (link) website or its Facebook page for a current list of events.
